Here at River City Studios, we are always looking for ways to help grow the local music scene here in West Michigan. One of the ways we are doing that, is by partnering up with Waldron Public House to host a weekly Writers Night, and give local songwriters a chance to play their songs in front of an audience.
Borrowing from the style that is traditionally done in Nashville, this night is going to consist of two “rounds”. Each round is going to consist of three singer/songwriters sitting up on stage together taking turns singing their songs and talking about the inspiration behind the song. Each round will last about an hour, giving each performer the time to play 4-5 songs. We are hoping to keep a good mix of established, and new acts each week. Performers are encouraged to interact with each other on stage if they feel comfortable. This is meant to be a fun event to help grow the songwriting community in Grand Rapids.
The Writers Night will take place every Tuesday at Waldron Public House, formerly McFadden’s, in downtown Grand Rapids from 8:00-10:00pm. Open to the public free of charge. Food and drink specials will be offered every week. If you are interested in taking part in this event send Kenton an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
